Gum Bone Mouth disease. Does having all the teeth out cure it?
l know the ideal is to hold onto as many teeth as possible. However. It has
crossed my mind several times that if l had all my teeth extracted, got
myself a set of denture plates - I've had no more absesses, no more
serious peridontal problems, no more gum disease, no more expensive trips
to the dentist every 3 months...ok, l might not have a very natural smile
and have to deal with denture plates, but if it is going to be constant
pain and struggle to keep these teeth for the rest of my life,is it worth it, l ask myself.... wouldnt it be easier just to have them all out, does that stop peridontal disease? Is this the case?
Yes it is true that by getting ur teeth extracted you will get
rid of periodontitis.Periodontitis is inflammation of the periodontal
ligament.Periodontal ligament is the part that attaches the tooth to the
bone. Therefore no tooth no periodontitis. In saying that the earlier u
extract ur teeth, the higher ur chances of losing the bony ridge on which
the denture sits. That is why you would find that a lot of people then
find they cant cope with dentures & end up spending more money on glues which will destroy the taste of ur food or on implants to hold the dentures in place. Ur health will also deteriorate because you can not nourish urself as u used too. Advice- fix the really strong teeth. Take out the compromised ones, use partial dentures. This is not the most ideal treatment but most economical. This is wat I call a compromised treatment plan. Also get ur oral hygiene to a meticulous standard.Remember flossing is just as important. All studies show that most decay is between the teeth. Good Luck Feel free to contact me if you have any other dental concerns.

While gum disease can be attributable to many things such as diabetes,
stress, & medications, the fact is that the majority of Americans who are
afflicted with gum disease have nothing more to blame than a combination
of poor dental hygiene, poor nutrition, & tobacco use (if you are a
smoker). Gum disease is no laughing matter folks. It is a very serious & unnecessary risk to ur health, not to mention ur smile & ability to chew solid food into ur twilight years. The early stage of gum disease is gingivitis, where the gums redden, swell, & bleed easily, yet can be reversed with professional cleanings & proper dental hygiene. However, if left untreated, gingivitis can progress into periodontitis. Periodontitis is much more of a threat, & with time, plaque can spread below the gum line, creating a breeding ground for harmful bacteria & toxins. These toxins produce a chronic inflammatory response that cause the tissue & bone that support the teeth to be broken down & destroyed. Gums will separate from the teeth, forming pockets which can become infected by the already present bacteria. Ultimately, if no action has been taken, the resulting bone loss & infection will call for the tooth to be removed in the afflicted area. Sadly, gums cannot regenerate themselves, & the bones that hold ur beautiful teeth in place will not reform. But, if caught soon enough (before ur teeth fall out of ur head), gum disease can be stopped dead in its tracks, pockets will close up, gums will become toned & healthy, & the former threat of bone loss will no longer exist. do you know the cause of the disease? this problem can be a
symptom of borreliosis / lyme disease-check with your doctor / dentist -
in particular if you have other unexplained health problems-if suspicious
get a second opinion from an experienced lyme doctor,if required
no sorry its not. if you have gum disease you could have your
teeth removed and all will be well for a while .but not forever. your gums
will still change. your dentures wont fit. you will need more treatment.
Sometimes, when the teeth all fall out or are removed because
of dental peridontal disease, the mouth pain & degeneration stops.
However, having several teeth removed at once can increase ur risk for
bone infection in the mouth. Also, if the teeth aren't removed correctly
(taking the entire root out at once) you may need more complicated dental
surgery to extract the broken root so that it does not cause irritation &
infection. Plus, there are possible complications like dry sockets & dehissence (wound re-opening after surgery). Dentists don't like to remove healthy teeth that are still rooted in the bone. It is difficult & has lots of risks involved.

I know what your going through. And if the denture are a good
fit you will have a very natural smile.
Mouth problems are usually gum problems. If you get dental
plates, you will have these absessed gums with dental plates rubbing over
them (no, they don't fit as well as you think)
You will be in more pain if you get them taken out. Besides, your dentist
might lose his license if he does it for you. I doubt he would do it.
