Are there any natural remedies to help quit smoking
I've decided to quit smoking today - but rather than using nicotine
replacement gum or patches l was wondering whether anyone knows any
natural remedies that work just as well? l have not just
randomly quite l decided last week and decided todayy was the start!
/> Thanks :o)
Fear is the key.
I used to smoke 200 cigarettes a day. I quit cold in 1967 and never smoked
again.
Getting some extra motivation and support from a hypnotherapist
can be helpful. Find something physical to do as a replacement for
smoking. Make sure you eat regularly through the day - and definitely eat
breakfast because often the cravings you get are actually hunger pangs that
were masked before by nicotine. That doesn't mean you will put on weight,
you will just be distributing your food more evenly through the day.
First off, congratulations for WANTING to quit smoking!!
As far as answering, there are a lot of ways, & it also depends on how
much you've been smoking. The best ways are slowly lowering ur dose (takes
a long time sometimes), or going cold turkey (which is faster, but harder).
Either way, the last thing is making the decision to quit, so you will
eventually have to deal with the withdrawal. For the most part, when you deal with withdrawal, you will just have to tough it out, but there are some things that can help cleanse out the toxins & may help to minimize some of the effects of withdrawal. Drinking water will help to detox, & taking some supplements that work as cleansers may help as well. Specifically, Apple Cider Vinegar, Green Tea (decaffeinated), Chlorophyll (fantastic cleanser), & even good amounts of fiber & water helps some people (although it is not very comfortable for the lower level of detoxification you get). All that being said, it is likely that the symptoms should stop relatively shortly after ur last smoke (it is never as long as it feels like it is). Your neurotransmitters don't take too terribly long to scream for something they are addicted to after you stop. Another important thing to note is that no matter how bad it gets, taking more of the drug (and yes, nicotine is a drug) will only make the withdrawal last longer & will be harder on you in the long run. Good luck, & congrats again!
Hypnosis can help you deal with the cravings of having a
cigarette. The most difficult part of quitting is finding something to do
besides lighting up. Especially when being around friends or family who
smoke.
Good luck
Homeopathic remedies can help but you would need to see a
qualified Homeopath.
